Dr. Leah Salter is Executive and Operational Director of the Centre for Systemic Studies (CSS), which she co-founded in 2020. A systemic practitioner, teacher, and researcher, her work is rooted in narrative and social constructionist approaches with a strong commitment to social justice. She teaches and supervises on doctoral programmes, works clinically with NHS Wales and community organisations, and contributes widely through publications, examining, and as co-editor of Murmurations: Journal of Transformative Systemic Practice.

Clare Cribb
Course Tutor, Foundation Level Training.
Clare Cribb is an AFT and UKCP registered systemic psychotherapist and a qualified psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience in NHS mental health services. Her approach emphasizes the impact of relationships on recovery from serious mental illness and promotes a social justice ethic within the public sector agencies she collaborates with. After training in various psychotherapy modalities, she completed her training with the Family Institute Wales in 2018 and will undergo systemic supervisor training in 2025.

Michele Ryan
Core Tutor, Foundation Level Training.
Michele Ryan is a UKCP and AFT-registered Systemic Family Psychotherapist with a diverse background in counselling and education. She has worked as a school and university counsellor, directed a counselling diploma course, and taught systemic therapy on psychology counselling doctorate courses at UWE and USW. With extensive experience in designing, managing, and delivering courses from further education to postgraduate levels, she has also served as an external examiner.

Julia Evans
Co-Director, Centre for Systemic Studies
Course Tutor on Qualifying & Foundation Level Training
Julia Evans is a Co-Director at the Centre for Systemic Studies, where she has led the Foundation Level Training from 2022 to 2024 and currently serves as a Course Tutor for the Qualifying Level Training. Her systemic journey began at the Family Institute, culminating in her qualification as a systemic psychotherapist in 2013.

Jill Lubienski
Course Lead for the Foundation and Intermediate Levels of Training.
Jill Lubienski serves as the Course Lead for the Foundation and Intermediate levels of training at the Centre for Systemic Studies (CSS). With extensive experience as a practice-based social work teacher and Systemic Psychotherapist, she has developed and delivered a variety of professional training workshops and courses.

Kieran Vivian-Byrne
Core Tutor, Intermediate Level Training.
Kieran Vivian-Byrne has been a key member of The Family Institute since 2004, initially at the University of Glamorgan and later at the University of South Wales. He played a pivotal role in developing innovative courses in Counselling and Psychotherapy through a systemic lens. As the Course Leader for the BSc Systemic Counselling, he helped over 200 students become qualified counsellors and taught across various levels of systemic psychotherapy training.

Dave Edwards
Joint Course Leads for the Supervisor Course
Dave Edward's journey with the Centre for Systemic Studies began in 2010 at the Family Institute, where he qualified as a systemic psychotherapist in 2015. He has consistently valued the strong sense of community fostered at conferences and workshops, connecting diverse individuals from around the world.
