Michele Ryan

Michele Ryan is a UKCP and AFT-registered Systemic Family Psychotherapist. She has worked as a school and university counsellor, directed a counselling diploma course, and taught systemic therapy on psychology counselling doctorate courses at UWE and USW. She has extensive experience in designing, managing, and delivering courses from FE to postgraduate levels and has served as an external examiner.

Michele has trained in trauma, mindfulness, autism, attachment theory, and Open Dialogue, and she provides supervision for groups and individual therapists, with a focus on recognising diversity in all forms.

In her practice, Michele adopts a collaborative, 'not-knowing' approach, empowering clients to set their own goals and build on their existing strengths—an approach she also applies in her work with students and colleagues.

She also draws on her background in film and television production and teaching, understanding the vital role of effective communication and active listening in creating new meanings together.
